Asma Al Thani is a Qatari female who strives to be a transformational leader that inspires and empowers other females to see that it is possible to follow their passions, achieve their dreams and be successful. She began her career at Ooredoo, Qatar’s leading telecoms service provider. In 2013, she was appointed the Director of Marketing and Communications of the Middle East’s first-ever Handball World Championships in Qatar in 2015.
She is now the Director of Marketing and Communications at the Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC) which has included carrying out the same role at the 2015 World Boxing Championships, 2015 IPC Athletics World Championships, IAAF Athletics World Championships- Doha 2019 as well as overseeing the QOC’s Rio 2016 Olympic campaign to inspire and engage the nation through Qatar’s Olympic heroes.
In April 2018, she joined a unique team of women from across Europe and the Arabian Peninsula to ski to the top of the world, becoming the 1st Qatari person to ever ski to the North Pole. By overcoming this adversity as a team, the expedition aimed to demonstrate the importance of greater intercultural understanding and exchange, while at the same time highlighting the capability of women.

Chris Park is Executive Vice President, Product & Marketing for Major League Baseball. He oversees MLB’s digital product development, marketing, and international business development. During a prior stint with MLB, Chris was selected as a SportsBusiness Journal Forty Under 40 honoree in 2012. He has also worked for McKinsey & Co. and Facebook, and clerked for the Honorable Stephen F. Williams on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit. Cynthia Mumbo is the Founder and CEO of Sports Connect Africa, a sports consultancy that focuses on connecting and empowering sports stakeholders in Africa. She has attended Wits University, the Chartered Institute of Marketing and is a Launch and Grow Fellow, at Babson College in Boston.
Cynthia served in the Executive Committee of the Kenya Basketball Federation as a co-opted member between 2009 and 2014. She is the Secretary General for the Kenya Basketball Women’s Commission and an advisory board member for the Hype Sports Innovation as well as a judge with the Sports Technology Awards| Start Ups. Cynthia has over 10 years of experience working in sales and marketing for, Sameer Africa (Firestone), Diageo and Menengai Oil Refineries.
Her community engagement involves youth basketball development and her hobbies are playing street basketball, music and reading.

Danny joined ELEVEN SPORTS as Group Managing Director from the start of the business in 2015 and has helped to develop one of the world’s most innovative independent global sports platforms. Dave Pietrycha joined NBC Sports Group as Chief Financial Officer in January 2013. He is responsible for the Finance & Accounting, Business Development, Sourcing, and Research functions for NBC Sports Group, which consists of NBC Olympics, NBC Sports, NBCSN, Golf Channel, GolfNow, Sports Engine, NBC Sports Digital, NBC Sports Radio and 9 NBC Regional Sports Networks. Previously, Pietrycha served in CFO roles for both NBC News and MSNBC from 2010-2012. Before that, he has held financial leadership roles within the NBC Owned Stations division, and graduated from the General Electric Experienced Financial Leadership Program. He began his career as a member of the Financial Leadership Development Program at BAE Systems, a global defense, security, and aerospace company.
Pietrycha graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Financial Economics from Saint Anselm College and holds an MBA from Bentley University. Earlier this year, Pietrycha was named one of SportsBusiness Journal’s “Forty Under 40” as one of the best and the brightest of the rising generation in sports business. He lives in Connecticut with his wife and two children.

Dewayne Hankins serves as Chief Marketing Officer for the Portland Trail Blazers and Rose Quarter. In his current role, Hankins oversees overall brand strategy, innovation and corporate communications for the Trail Blazers and Rose Quarter. Hankins and his team’s work have been recognized by the NBA with the Digital Innovation Award in 2014 and 2016-18.
His executive role has also grown within Vulcan, Inc., parent company of the Trail Blazers, to include strategic direction for the marketing, digital media and advertising of Vulcan Arts + Entertainment. She works tirelessly to increase equality and diversity in both sport and the media. She is a Trustee and Director of The Jason Roberts Foundation, the Michael Carrick Foundation and also a Director of Women in Football – a network of over 2,500 women working in professional football.
Jon Stainer is the Managing Director of Nielsen Sports’ biggest global business, overseeing its operations in the United States, Canada and Mexico. He took on the new role in January of 2018 after serving as Nielsen Sports’ Managing Director in the U.K. and Ireland. He has managed businesses through three acquisitions in his career, most notably Repucom’s acquisition of IFM Sports Marketing Surveys in 2012 and then Repucom’s sale to The Nielsen Company in 2016. Jon has exceptional major event experience having worked on three Olympic Games and two FIFA World Cups and has led client relationships with the likes of Premier League; McLaren; World Rugby; HSBC and Standard Chartered Bank. Jon brings a global perspective to the sports marketing industry and is often sought after as a speaker and commentator for conferences and sports business media.
Senior Associate Commissioner and General Counsel
Kelvin Smith is the Senior Associate Commissioner and General Counsel of the Big 12 Conference. As a member of the Conference’s senior management team, he oversees all operational legal matters as well as governance and compliance. Smith also helps lead many of the Conference’s initiatives related to revenue creation and maximization, particularly in the areas of media distribution and emerging technologies.
Smith joined the Big 12 from Learfield where he served as Vice President, Business and Legal Affairs. As the first person to occupy the in-house counsel position for the company, he was intimately involved in the negotiation of multi-media rights agreements with several of Learfield’s university and conference partners. Prior to joining Learfield, Smith served as a corporate associate for the law firm King & Spalding and as a finance associate for the law firm Bracewell & Giuliani. Smith is a graduate of Stanford University and Harvard Law School.
Dr. Mintas oversees Sportradar’s operations in the US and is a global thought leader on sports betting legislation, regulation and sports integrity. A lawyer by trade, Laila previously worked several years at the international law firm White & Case LLP and specialized in Sports Law and Gambling, Compliance and Litigation. She wrote her Ph.D. in Betting via the Internet which became a well-recognized book in its field.
Previously, she was the Head of Legal and Head of International Development for FIFA’s Early Warning System and Director of Sports Integrity at CONCACAF, the governing body for Soccer in North America, Central America and Caribbean. Since 2009, she has published a significant number of law articles in the top academic and professional journals about sports betting and sports law and has lectured at Humboldt University of Berlin and Columbia University in New York where she is a Professor for Global Sports Law. Malcolm has worked within the sports industry for 15 years. A Law graduate he has most recently risen through the ranks at The R&A, golf’s governing body having previously worked at Acushnet Europe as the European Marketing Manager for golf’s biggest equipment manufacturer. He joined The R&A in 2007 and was tasked with building the organisation’s in house Communications and Marketing functions. Malcolm was a key member of the team that oversaw golf’s return to the Olympic Games, leading the communications for the International Golf Federation from 2011 – 2016 and golf’s media team at Rio 2016.
Malcolm now leads the Sales and Marketing teams at The R&A with a primary focus on The Open Championship, golf’s oldest and most international major championship. Following a successful exit, Matthew went on to lead Product Development for Phunware, an industry leader in mobile solutions for Fortune 500 companies including Fox, NBC and WWE. Now with the Miami HEAT, Matthew’s impact on executing the franchise’s mobile-centric, technology-driven mandate has been immediate and wide-ranging. From implementing mobile only entry for all HEAT home games to unveiling a best-in-class mobile app to parsing analytics that inform real time business decisions—Jafarian has brought all his tech savvy know-how to downtown Miami.

Matthew Porter has been Chief Executive of the Professional Darts Corporation since January 2008, as well as a director of the PDC’s parent company, Matchroom Sport.
During that time, he has overseen the progress of the sport to unprecedented levels where it now pays out in excess of £12m prize money annually and has introduced a structure which provides a pathway from picking up a dart for the first time to being crowned World Champion, with the introduction of Development and Challenge Tours, as well as a World Series for elite players.
Porter was Chief Executive of Leyton Orient FC when the club was owned by Matchroom, as well as serving on the board of The Football League. In 2006 he was appointed as the youngest chief executive in English football by O’s chairman Barry Hearn, aged just 26. His appointment coincided with the Club’s promotion to League 1 and he oversaw their progression to an established side in the division which included narrowly missing out on promotion at the end of the 2013/14 season before the Club was sold.

Megha is responsible for legal, people development, information technology and stadium capital planning. Since joining the Jaguars, Megha has worked on team-owner Shahid Khan’s acquisition of Fulham Football Club, over $170 million in improvements to TIAA Bank Field (including two spas and the world’s largest outdoor video boards) and the 2017 opening of amphitheater and covered football field. Megha has also worked on the extension of stadium naming rights and selection and engagement of new food, beverage and merchandise providers.
Prior to the Jaguars, Megha worked in the New York office of Proskauer, which is an international law firm known for its sports practice. Megha joined Proskauer in 2009 after graduating magna cum laude from Harvard College and Harvard Law School.
Megha serves on the boards of the Jaguars Foundation, Florida Sports Foundation and the Sports Business & Leadership Association and works with Women in Sports and Events.
Megha was named in 2012 and 2013 to Forbes Magazine’s 30 Under 30 Sports List. Megha has also been named a Woman of Influence (2014), Ultimate Attorney (2016) and to the Sports Business Journal’s 40 Under 40 (2018) since coming to Jacksonville.

Serving as the commissioner of the Overwatch League and the head of product for all Overwatch Esports, Nate Nanzer leads the cross-discipline Esports programs for the popular team-based action game from Blizzard Entertainment. Nate began developing plans for an Overwatch Esports program in his spare time while working in Blizzard’s marketing department, and has now turned that passion into a full-time role. He oversees the strategy, development, and execution of Overwatch Esports for all levels of play (including: the Overwatch League, Overwatch World Cup, Contenders, Open Division, and Tespa), and is responsible for everything from partnerships to competition rules.
Nate has been a featured speaker at the Milken Institute Global Conference, DICE, SXSW, PromaxGAMES Summit and JP Morgan Tech Exchange, among other Esports, sports and business conferences. He was also among a handful of industry leaders invited to speak at the International Olympic Committee’s and Global Association of International Sports Federations’ first-ever Esports forum.

Nick is the Chief Commercial Officer at COPA90, responsible for leading and delivering the commercial strategy of the business. Central to this strategy and Nick’s role, is the development of long term relationships with agency groups, platforms, rights holders and broadcasters – all of whom value the global football fan connectivity that COPA90 enables via content, media and data.
Nick has been with COPA90 for over five years, and helped the business along the journey from a YouTube channel in its earliest days to today’s modern football media business and brand, with original content and audiences across a range of global platforms and partners.

Deputy Director of Athletics, Administration and Legal Affairs/Chief of Staff
Nina King is the Deputy Director of Athletics for Administration/Legal Affairs and Chief of Staff at Duke University. In this role, King facilitates daily operation/oversight of the department, coordinates strategic planning initiatives, and manages the creation/execution of all department contracts while serving as the liaison to the University Senior Administration, Board of Trustees and Legal Counsel Office.
King also supervises Recreation/Physical Education and has sport oversight for football, women’s basketball, and cross country/track and field. Additionally, she co-teaches at the Fuqua School of Business with Vice President and Director of Athletics, Kevin White. King championed the creation and launch of The Rubenstein-Bing ACE program in 2015, a collaboration between Stanford University and Duke for global civic engagement involving student-athletes from both institutions.
She is a member of several Duke University committees, serves on the NCAA Women’s Basketball Committee and the Arizona State University College of Law’s Sports Law and Business Program Advisory Board.

Director of International Events and Professional Game; Tournament Director of The Fever-Tree Championships at The Queen's Club
Stephen is the LTA’s Director of International Events and Professional Game, overseeing all the LTA’s professional events, including the Fever-Tree Championships at The Queen’s Club and the Nature Valley sponsored events in Eastbourne, Birmingham and Nottingham. He combines this role with his position as Tournament Director of the Fever-Tree Championships, the premier pre-Wimbledon grass court event, and also leads for the LTA on its relationships with all the international tennis governing bodies. Stephen is a member of the ATP European Group Board.
Stephen has led the Fever-Tree Championships team since 2013, including overseeing the elevation of the event to an ATP 500 tournament, the rejuvenation and development of the on-site hospitality offering and, notably, the successful project to expand the capacity of the Centre Court at Queen’s by 30% from 2017. During this period, the tournament won the ATP Tournament of the Year Award, as voted for by the players of the ATP, for four consecutive years from 2013 – 2016.

Toby joined City Football Group (CFG) in 2014, initially as Head of Marketing Communications, before moving to a broader role, overseeing all non-football communications for the Group, its six clubs and related businesses. Vanessa Shay is the first female vice president of sales for the Global Partnerships division of AEG, one of the largest sports and entertainment companies in the world. Acting as an internal agency for AEG, GP oversees worldwide sponsorship sales and activation for over 135 world-class platforms across five continents, including venues, sports franchises, events, tours, and festivals among other AEG holdings. In her role within AEG’s most profitable division, Shay is charged with identifying unique opportunities for international brands to access AEG’s world-class sports and entertainment properties and venues. She personally oversees and manages a portfolio of numerous AEG partners and sponsors as well as multiple assets, including L.A. LIVE, STAPLES Center, L.A. LIVE events, the Amgen Tour of California, and more. She’s also responsible for leading a department with an annual budget of $19 million and supports Global Partnerships reaching global revenues of more than $500 million.
Zarah’s career has spanned multiple factions of the sports industry from agency to Governing Body to broadcaster to Organising Committees. In the world of Olympics she spent several years immersed in track and field, for UK Athletics’ then agency Fast Track before moving to Melbourne to lead the marketing and communications team at Athletics Australia.
Following the Olympics in 2012, Zarah returned to London and joined the Sky Sports marketing team, working on their British & Irish Lions campaign.
