Michel D’Hooghe has been a FIFA Executive Committee Member since 1988. Dr. D’Hooghe is FIFA’s medical chief and largely responsible for the constantly improved connection between sports medicine and football. He is also Chairman of the FIFA Medical Committee and is the Honorary President of Belgium Club FC Bruges. As well as this, D’Hooghe is the Honorary President of the Belgian FA. Dr. D’Hooghe has also held positions as the President of Euro 2000, as a member of the World Cup Organising Committee, as Vice-President of the Women’s Football Committee (FIFA) and as Vice-President of the Media Committee (UEFA).
