Tatjana Haenni started her football career in Switzerland in 1979 playing for FC Bern, and also enjoyed spells at Rapid Lugano, Coquitlam and SV Seebach as well as representing the Swiss Women’s National Team 23 times between 1984 and 1996. Alongside this, Tatjana started working for UEFA in 1994 where she was the first employee fully dedicated to women’s football. She was with UEFA for four years, before joining FIFA in 1999 where she is now the Deputy Director of the Competitions Division and the Head of Women’s Competition. In this role, she leads the organisational aspects of all FIFA Women’s World Cups including the upcoming Women’s World Cup in Canada this June. Tatjana is passionate about continuing to develop women’s football, to make sure that women’s football is well structured, respected and integrated in all football organisations, most importantly in the decision-making bodies and that there are women involved in football in all areas.
