Particularly in the aviation world, we need to work on this as our people are still referred to as employees rather performers.<\/li>\n<li>There were some good discussions around the correlation between feeling good and playing well. How often do we seek and look to find out how people are feeling?<\/li>\n<li>Dealing with millennials. In other worlds outside of sport, recruits come in around the 21-22 age mark unlike sport where it is younger. The is a challenge of trying to understand what they need and to also onboard and train them in an environment with a mixture of other generations.<\/li>\n<li>The importance of a learning culture. In particular, learning and looking into what went right rather than always focusing on the failure. In sport, we often look at the latter and try to dissect what went wrong rather than building on successes.<\/li>\n<li>Reward \u2018evidence of growth\u2019.<\/li>\n<li>Relationships are such a core component of creating a safe and empathetic environment.<\/li>\n<li>Empathy and perspective should go hand in hand. Coaches who have a high and strong level of perspective are able to better foster that cognitive diversity.<\/li>\n<li>Diversity isn\u2019t just about ethnicity and gender diversity, it\u2019s about pulling on different types of thinking who may be operating in a different role.<\/li>\n<li>There was an insight on how we could potentially look to listen and collate insights from other members of staff not directly related to our specific line of work to encourage diversity.<\/li>\n<li>There is a big opportunity in the coach education space and how we can stretch the learning of our coaches.<\/li>\n<li>We all participate in lots of different meetings, yet we aren\u2019t drawing out all of the individual and different thinking and experiences in that room.<\/li>\n<li>When thinking about diversity, that diversity needs to be relevant to the topic or problem that is being addressed.<\/li>\n<li>Ask yourself the question: what is the problem we have? How can a more diverse room of thinking support this? If there is an opportunity here, who are the voices we aren\u2019t hearing from?<\/li>\n<li>Does your leader speak last to allow others to speak and share insights beforehand?<\/li>\n<li>How many of you have a Coaching Director in your organisations to support coach education and development? There is an opportunity to look at top quality coach educators from other sports to come in and focus solely on coaching the coaches.<\/li>\n<li>There is an opportunity to better review the performance and effectiveness of our coaches.<\/li>\n<li>\u2018The team is typical comprised of those like us\u2019.
