Thoughts from the Group<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>How do we create a consistent high performance culture and developmental model even when there is turnover in staff?<\/li>\n<li>What does a high performance culture mean and look like in your environment? What are the behaviours and tenets that need to be put in place to influence this?<\/li>\n<li>In the development of our coaches, what are the opportunities to unify and benefit everybody which also feed and support the culture we are trying to nurture?<\/li>\n<li>How can we evolve our environment so there is a thirst for feedback from our people in what historically is a culture which fears feedback?<\/li>\n<li>How can we work to create a culture of openness and vulnerability? Often what we want and have created, isn\u2019t functioning as we\u2019d like in the field.<\/li>\n<li>How can we better customise and create programmes that are driven by the athlete and whereby there is total alignment from top to bottom?<\/li>\n<li>There is a challenge in buy-in with diverse cultures, so how can we better drive alignment and get everyone on the same page?<\/li>\n<li>How can we create and nurture psychological safety which is an obvious important element of a long-term, sustainable high performance culture?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>1. Tenets of a high performance culture \u2013 what does this look like and what needs to be considered?<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Feedback must be consistent across the organisation.<\/li>\n<li>Staff need to learn how to give and receive this feedback.<\/li>\n<li>Even those maverick stars within your organisation need to be held accountable to the values and behaviours you have.<\/li>\n<li>The culture has to start from the top and there needs to be a consistency with the mindset. Consistency of messaging can be difficult, but it\u2019s crucial to have a consistent mindset.<\/li>\n<li>Be willing to collaborate \u2013 \u2018no gurus\u2019. If you have a guru culture or a \u2018coach is king\u2019 model, it\u2019s going to be incredibly difficult to have those powerful conversations. All of us is smarter than one of us.<\/li>\n<li>Have transparent processes so there is clarity and alignment between everyone.<\/li>\n<li>Some organisations have made all of their offices open so they can physically see each other to improve transparency and communication, thus preventing silos.<\/li>\n<li>Attitude is so important. This is the cornerstone to make anything happen whether you are learning from a mistake or developing a strength.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>2. Challenges and thoughts around enhance alignment within the wider organizational culture?<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Vulnerability and a safe space within the environment is crucial when looking to nurture and create alignment.<\/li>\n<li>A clear vision needs to be communicated and how we are going to execute it from the top down.<\/li>\n<li>If you understand the \u2018why\u2019 of what you are doing, you are going to have a better chance of getting the buy-in that you need.<\/li>\n<li>In experience, there can be no veil of secrecy if you are striving for total alignment across your organisation.<\/li>\n<li>Vulnerability shows you are human and that you don\u2019t have all the answers. If you model that kind of behaviour you are more likely to get influence from those above you as well.<\/li>\n<li>Hire good people and trust them to do their job.
