The rise of Toulouse FC has been both fast and meticulously planned.<\/h6>\n

Le T\u00e9f\u00e9c\u00e9<\/em> were Ligue 2 champions in 2022 and, last season, won the Coupe de France \u2013 their first major trophy in 66 years.<\/p>\n

Toulouse also finished 13th<\/sup> in their first season back in Ligue 1 \u2013 well clear of the relegation zone. Not that Damien Comolli, the club\u2019s President since 2020, is resting on this laurels.<\/p>\n

\u201cEveryone said \u2018well done on staying up\u2019 but we\u2019re not interested in staying up \u2013 we never mentioned staying up \u2013 we said we want to finish as high as possible,\u201d he tells the Leaders Performance Podcast.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere are games that we feel we should have won and could have won. We lacked this cutting edge, this winning mentality at times, we should have got more points, we should have finished higher than 13th<\/sup> in the table.\u201d<\/p>\n

Damien Comolli has overseen the Toulouse\u2019s resurgence under new owners RedBird Capital Partners, but he couldn\u2019t have done it without his \u2018truth teller\u2019, the club\u2019s Head of Strategy & Culture, Selinay G\u00fcrgen\u00e7 Comolli, and Julien Demeaux, Toulouse\u2019s Head of Data.<\/p>\n
