“I’d drawn out a plan of how I was going to be doing things but in reality it’s been very different – I’ve adapted.” Eric Ernst joined Formula E as its Head of Technology in March and soon had to throw his plans out of the window. He says: “Things I thought would be straightforward are really hard and things that I thought would be impossible have already been done.” It has been a challenge but one he has got his head around ahead of what promises to be Formula E’s most exciting season so far.<\/h4>\n

Ernst, who came to Leaders HQ for this in-depth interview, delved into the differences between working at the Volvo Ocean Race, where he was previously employed, and the fast-paced world of motorsport where races cross continents in a matter of weeks.
