Leaders Sport Performance Summit, London<\/p>\n \n \n \n

The Sport Performance Summit <\/strong>took place in London last week for the final edition in the 2017 series. The global event welcomed 350 Head Coaches, General Managers, Technical Directors, Performance Directors and other senior performance practitioners, from some of the most forward thinking organisations around the world. The two day agenda brought together expert performance speakers from sport, the military, academia and the performing arts, to offer attendees new and innovative perspectives on high performance which can be implemented in professional sport.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The speaker line-up saw some of the best performance experts from sport and beyond take to the stage at The Kia Oval. Day one kicked off with Sir Dave Brailsford<\/strong> offering a fascinating insight into his time as Team Principal at Team Sky, as well as what he feels needs to happen going forward to ensure the team stay ahead of the curve for races up until 2024. The audience then heard from a panel featuring Jerry Dipoto<\/strong>, General Manager of the Seattle Mariners and Gersson Rosas<\/strong>, Executive Vice President of Basketball at The Houston Rockets; a session which focused on the prerequisites required to build a winning team. The opening day concluded in a session with Sean Dyche<\/strong>, Manager of Burnley FC and Emma Hayes<\/strong>, Manager of Chelsea Ladies FC, who offered an exclusive insight into the importance of organisational identity for their respective clubs and how it can translate into successful performance on the field.<\/p>\n

A panel featuring\u00a0Andrew Massey<\/strong>, Head of Medical Services, Liverpool FC, Mike McNamee<\/strong>, Professor of Applied Ethics, Swansea University, Henry Nwume<\/strong>, Former Professional Athlete & UKAD Athlete Committee Member and Mohammed Alsayrafi<\/strong>, General Manager, Anti-Doping Lab Qatar opened day two, delivering a collaborative session on the fight against doping both presently and in the future. In the afternoon, the audience heard from a slightly different persona in Comedian and Podcaster Stuart Goldsmith<\/strong>, whom conveyed what the field of comedy can teach us about peak performance. The Summit was suitably wrapped up by two leading practitioners in both forms of football; Darren Burgess<\/strong>, Director of High Performance at Arsenal FC and Andrew Russell<\/strong>, Director of Elite Performance for Hawthorn FC, who delved into the importance of putting everything in place off of the field, to ensure players have the ability to perform on it.<\/p>\n

The Sport Performance Summit series kicks off in 2018 with a two day Summit in Los Angeles. The global Summit returns to the Red Bull Media House for the third year running on 16 \u2013 17 March. For more information click here<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n
