We explored cultural transformation, integration and education, how to onboard new recruits and scale culture and finally the processes behind ensuring that this culture is as sustainable as possible.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Key Takeaways<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>MB YOU: Build your worth, own your future\u2019 1. Invest in your employees. 2. Guide them in maximizing investment. 3. Increase creativity, productivity, expertise. 4. Be number one in the market and community with customers, dealers and employees.<\/li>\n<li>Mercedes-Benz put new hires through a \u2018brand immersion\u2019 exercise. This means the onboarding is even more thorough, and gives new staff a real flavor of what the organization and culture is. Do you have a similar process in your team? If not, why not?<\/li>\n<li>Feedback, as we know, is integral. Open feedback even more so, and if you have it ingrained within your culture then you will have a very thorough approach to learning and development.<\/li>\n<li>Softer skills are becoming ever more important, and having a focus on developing them and integrating them within your culture will help to continually evolve your environment.<\/li>\n<li>\u2018Every individual must pull together. If you can appeal to the individual the team inevitably gets stronger. The intent is to get the maximum out of them, so they feel they\u2019re a contributor to the organization\u2019.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Thinking Points<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>At Mercedes-Benz, all new hires attended an orientation called Brand Immersion. This was created to provide a full immersion in the culture, customer experience, the wonderful world of our product portfolio, and a driving experience that will not easily be forgotten. Do you have a similar process for onboarding new recruits on the playing and non-playing side?<\/li>\n<li>The new Headquarters\u2019 grand opening will never be forgotten and this was deliberate. It was designed this way to create memories \u2013 this is why you moved to Atlanta and certainly, why you joined such a fantastic company.<\/li>\n<li>Create an open feedback culture, but with the willingness to act on the feedback. Best practices at Mercedes-Benz include annual employee engagement surveys and annual 360s for all management along with feedback sessions to accompany these.<\/li>\n<li>Mercedes-Benz recently rolled out an employee value proposition known as MB YOU \u2013 \u2018Build your worth, own your future\u2019. This was\u00a0designed to help cement the culture, thus making the experience more personal to help drive greater levels of productivity, creativity and expertise.<\/li>\n<li>In the ever-evolving nature of an organization\u2019s culture, working on the softer skills is something that needs to have focus.
