Topics on the agenda were: judgment under uncertainty \u2013 how, and how well, we predict what will happen in the future? Nurturing a culture that is accepting of data-driven decisions and modeling for data benchmarking and stress-testing.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Key Takeaways<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Before you start to change your decision-making strategy, you need to make sure your culture is set up for accepting new ideas and approaches. If you\u2019re not a data-driven organization, make sure you\u2019re set up to become one.<\/li>\n<li>Agility is key. There is a lot of talk about agile leadership, but being an agile leader on the whole will give you and your team the opportunity to be adaptable and make quick decisions.<\/li>\n<li>Be clean. Regardless of how soon you want to be making decisions based on data, those metrics and numbers need to be clean. If the data isn\u2019t clean, it\u2019s not reliable to base decisions on.<\/li>\n<li>Evolution not revolution. It\u2019s about making the future better than it is now \u2013 if your data processes are not strong, then it\u2019s about moving towards a model that will be successful for your organization.<\/li>\n<li>It\u2019s a huge challenge to onboard the right people. You want them to be invested into the project you are creating and the data-driven culture you want to implement. Relationships are critical.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Thinking Points<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>How are you thinking about modelling for stress tests within your data processes? It\u2019s important to be looking more towards the future and ensuring that mistakes don\u2019t continue, as well as continuing to evolve the framework.<\/li>\n<li>If you are going to be a data-driven organization, it\u2019s crucial to ensure there is an organizational culture accepting of these decision-making processes.<\/li>\n<li>Be agile. The teams and organizations that are structured to be flexible and have adaptability to make quick decisions are the ones getting competitive advantages.<\/li>\n<li>It goes without saying, but the availability and the hygiene of the data you collect has to be reliable, robust and consistent if you are looking to make data an integral part of your decision-making and performance prediction processes.<\/li>\n<li>Often prediction is not considered part of our vernacular in the space of high performance sport.
