We heard insights about how the creative process sustains success and excellence, how to create cohesive performance and how selection and evaluation of character works in the world of the arts.<\/h4>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Key Takeaways<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>We have a theme, a message or a feeling at the start of a process or designing a performance. The theme will always be respected.<\/li>\n<li>The role of the director is to make sure that the roles and themes will always be respected throughout. They always bring people in line and united.<\/li>\n<li>When we create a show we don\u2019t think about what people would like to see. We think about what we want to do and what we want to achieve, and then hope people like it. This is something we do on a daily basis. We have to follow our instinct and intuition.<\/li>\n<li>Sustaining success is largely down to making consistency a priority.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Thinking Points<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>To drive creativity, it needs to be ingrained in your culture and language. It shouldn\u2019t be something when you say \u2018now let\u2019s be creative\u2019 \u2013 consider how to effectively integrate this into your organizational culture.<\/li>\n<li>It\u2019s crucial to include time for reflection within a creative process. What worked? What were people feeling during this process? How did we respond when something failed? Creativity first and foremost needs to be approached as a learning tool.<\/li>\n<li>To nurture creativity, consider actually introducing a space to do so for your staff. Sometimes creativity needs constraints, sometimes it needs freedom, and sometimes it needs time.<\/li>\n<li>Measure creativity, both internally and externally. That will help define a deeper understanding of what makes your organization more creative, and more competitive.<\/li>\n<li>Even in circus art, the challenge is to create an environment which empowers people understand their importance in the final outcome of the productions.
