As a leader, you should establish a time-frame to work within, and once that\u2019s been defined don\u2019t move the goalposts \u2013 stick to what was agreed, and don\u2019t keep adding pieces.<br \/>\n\u2022 Have faith (and patience!) in the performance plan \u2013 you put it in place for a reason, so refrain from any last minute deviations.<br \/>\n\u2022 The Olympic games is something you are unable to recreate, much like high stake competition in any sport. Therefore recognise that no matter how well athletes can handle the pressure in \u2018normal conditions\u2019, things can change on gameday.<br \/>\n\u2022 Investing time to help the athletes to understand pressure is crucial \u2013 identify ways to alleviate this pressure.<br \/>\n\u2022 Focus on you, not the competition. Sure, keep an eye on them, but stay focused on the controlling the controllables.<br \/>\n\u2022 A lot of information out there, so work out the best way that your coaches and athletes are going to use the information that you give them in your environment.<br \/>\n\u2022 You shouldn\u2019t underestimate the \u2018feel good factor\u2019 \u2013 create that in your camp, and it will go a long way to being successful. Athletes and staff need to enjoy what they\u2019re doing.<br \/>\n\u2022 How do I get performance tomorrow? Focusing resource is very important.<\/p>\n<p>1. SELECT and re-select players with podium potential<br \/>\n2. Keep talent HEALTHY by minimising injury and rehabbing optimally<br \/>\n3. MONITOR training adaptations<br \/>\n4. ENHANCE training adaptations = Increase ROI<br \/>\n5.
