How Hollywood can Drive Human Behaviour

Melissa Painter (Keynote)
Executive Director, 5D Global Studio

Meg LeFauve (Interview)
Co-Writer, Pixar’s Inside Out

Our brains use stories to understand our lives and overcome problems, and to get past these problems, we have to change the story. For an athlete who has experienced a setback, there is an opportunity to take hold and tell a new story of resilience and come back and be the hero. We’ll draw lessons from an Academy Award nominated screenwriter on what makes a compelling story, what a hero needs to overcome their obstacles, and how we translate this into the stories of grit to help our athletes. We’ll also take a glimpse at the future with an award-winning filmmaker, exploring how the power of technology can be used to enhance these storytelling capabilities, creating new ways of thinking, seeing, building and communicating.
