Where Next for Elite Performance in Baseball?

Billy Beane is best known for applying statistical analysis (known as sabermetrics) to recruitment of players in the MLB, which has led all teams to reconsider how they evaluate players (depicted in the 2011 film ‘Moneyball’). With Beane’s new strategy in place, the Athletics reached the playoffs in four consecutive years from 2000 through 2003, and became the first team in the 100 plus years of American League baseball to win 20 consecutive games. In this interview with Leaders, Beane discusses his vision for the future of performance in baseball, creating an innovative culture, and where next for competitive advantage.
