Lakers recruit Rambis
Kurt Rambis has been hired by the NBA’s Los Angeles Lakers as Senior Basketball Advisor. The 60-year-old former Laker will report to EVP of Basketball Ops Earvin ‘Magic’ Johnson and will support basketball operations and the coaching staff.
Nantes hire Halilhodžić
Vahid Halilhodžić is the new Head Coach of Ligue 1 Nantes. The 66-year-old replaces Miguel Cardoso on a two-year contract and takes his first coaching role since the Japan men’s national team earlier this year.
Nevin joins England coaching staff
Brighton & Hove Albion First-Team Coach Paul Nevin is to join the coaching staff of Gareth Southgate for the England men’s team’s next two matches. His appointment is to help the Football Association achieve its goal of ensuring BAME [black, Asian and minority] work placements across all England squads. The same initiative sees Sol Campbell join the England men’s Under-21s coaching staff for their next round of matches and Terry Connor link up with the England youth set-up for the same duration.
Bilić bound for Al-Ittihad
Slaven Bilić has been appointed Head Coach of Saudi Arabian Pro League side Al-Ittihad. The 50-year-old Croatian has agreed a three-year deal with the club.
Forrest & Easson join Scotland
Scott Forrest and Bryan Easson have been made assistant coaches of Scotland Women. Forrest will work with the defence and Easson with the attack under Head Coach Shade Munro.
Horan returns to Mayo
James Horan has returned as Senior Football Manager of the Mayo men’s team. Horan, who led the westerners to two All-Ireland Finals in his first stint in the role between 2010 and 2014, has been ratified for a four-year term by the Mayo GAA county board.
Herrington hired at Fresno
Katelyne Herrington has been appointed Head Coach of both the men’s and women’s programs at Fresno Pacific University.
Norman named by Kitman Labs
Darcy Norman is the new US Head of Performance Science at sports analytics company Kitman Labs. He joins four months after leaving his role as Director of Performance at Italian Serie A side AS Roma.
