One of the most successful teams in the NBA, the Boston Celtics’ seventeen championships are the most for any NBA franchise. As Managing Partner of Boston Basketball Partners LLC, a private investment group he formed alongside his father, Wyc purchased the Celtics in 2002 with the primary goal of returning the team to contention for their 17th World Championship. He achieved that goal on the 17 June 2008 when the Celtics defeated the Lakers by 39 points and became World Champions for the first time in 22 years.
With involvement across NBA business, Wyc currently serves as Chair of the NBA Planning Committee and as a member of the NBA Labor Relations, Finance, Compensation and Audit Committees. Taking to Leaders’ New York stage, he will share insights with 500 of the industry’s most senior executives, taking the audience inside the business behind the Boston Celtics, sharing his plans for the franchise and debating the future of basketball in the US and overseas.
James Worrall, CEO, Leaders commented: “Wyc has been at the centre of the rapid development of the Boston Celtics; we look forward to welcoming him to the Leaders Sport Business Summit and hearing about his plans for the future of the team.”
The Leaders Sport Business Summit New York will be operating a strict invitation process with only 500 places available to Director level executives in sport worldwide. If you are interested in attending please contact one of the team by clicking the enquire button below:
