The ‘master of all ceremonies’ Diego joins Andy Flower, Technical Director of Elite Coaching, ECB; Raymond Blanc, two star Michelin Chef at Le Manoir Aux Quat’Saisons restaurant and Geoff Miller, Mental Skills Coach, Atlanta Braves, as the latest speaker to be revealed for the event.
Diego has been the restaurant manager at the Waterside Inn since 1988 and, in 2010, saw the restaurant become the only restaurant outside of France to retain three Michelin stars for over twenty five years. Having worked in the industry for over 30 years, Diego also worked at Le Gavroche, a two Michelin star restaurant, and opened Le Mazarin in London – a restaurant that gained a Michelin star after just four months under Diego’s leadership, but felt the effects of his departure by being forced to close shortly after he left.
Joining the 6th edition of the Leaders Sport Performance Summit, Diego will share his philosophies on staff selection, mentoring, sustaining and fighting complacency and creating a culture of true high performance; philosophies that have kept the Waterside Inn at the very highest level of excellence for over 25 years. His session is set to inspire new ideas and approaches to elite performance amongst the 600 experts in attendance.
James Worrall, CEO, Leaders commented: “Maintaining three Michelin stars for over twenty five years is a truly unique achievement. With the Sport Performance Summit dedicated to sharing knowledge throughout the industry and beyond, Diego will provide a fantastic alternative insight into what it takes to deliver world class performance day in day out.”
