Preparing for big games and handling pressure
An international football icon, Didier is one of the most successful players in Chelsea’s 109 year history. Scoring 157 goals in 241 appearances, he’s helped the club to three Premier League titles, four FA Cups, two Carling Cups and, most famously, the 2012 Champions League title – where he scored an unforgettable 88th minute equaliser in the final, then scored the winning penalty in the shoot-out.
Taking place over the course of two days, Didier joins the Performance Summit to speak alongside the likes of Arsène Wenger, Manager, Arsenal FC; Andy Flower, Technical Director of Elite Coaching, ECB; John Longmire, Head Coach, Sydney Swans; Raymond Blanc, two star Michelin Chef at Le Manoir Aux Quat’Saisons restaurant; Geoff Miller, Mental Skills Coach, Atlanta Braves and Diego Masciaga, Director and General Manager of the 3 Michelin starred Waterside Inn restaurant. A completely media-free, invitation only event, the insights shared at the Summit will be exclusive to those lucky enough to be in attendance on the day.
Didier will form part of an in-depth panel discussion exploring how he prepares for big games and handles pressure, and how he sustains the elite level of play that sees him still competing at the highest level of football at 36 years of age. Joined by over 600 leading GM’s, Head Coaches, Performance Directors and Sporting Directors from across the globe, Didier will also discuss what makes a world class athlete, team chemistry and his lessons from nearly 2 decades at the top.
James Worrall, CEO, Leaders commented: “We’re really excited to welcome Didier to the Leaders Sport Performance Summit. He’s internationally renowned for his ability to perform when it matters most and will provide a captivating insight into coping with the demands and pressures of competing at the highest level of football.”
