Karl-Heinz is the first leader confirmed for the ECA’s panel of top club executives which will discuss the organisation’s strategy as the governance, complexity and globalisation of football continues to evolve. Starting his career as a successful footballer, playing for Lippstadt, Bayern and Inter Milan, Karl-Heinz became Vice President of Bayern in 1991 and subsequently Chairman of the Executive board at the club, where he takes responsibility for management control and communication, external relations and coordination with the supervisory board. He took up his role as Chairman of the ECA board in 2008.
Karl-Heinz commented: “The world of football is constantly evolving and Europe has a strong role to play in steering that development. The Leaders Sport Business Summit will be a great opportunity for me and my colleagues to discuss and highlight, amongst the industry, some of the biggest issues facing the game today.”
The Summit, now in its 7th year, has already confirmed a number of world class speakers who will address 1500 director level delegates from 45 sports and 50 countries attending the sell-out event this year. These include Jeffrey Webb, President, CONCACAF; Christian Seifert, CEO, German Bundesliga; Erick Thohir, Owner and President, FC Internazionale Milano; Dave Coplin, Chief Envisioning Officer at Microsoft; Roel De Vries, Corporate Vice President and Global Head of Marketing, Communications and Brand Strategy, Nissan and Russell Wolff, Executive Vice President and Managing Director, ESPN International.
James Worrall, CEO, Leaders commented: “As someone who knows football inside out from the pitch to the boardroom, Karl will provide a rare all-round insight into the industry when he joins us alongside his colleagues in October and we are honoured to host him at this year’s Leaders Sport Business Summit.”
The Leaders Sport Business Summit is an exclusive invite only event, with 1500 places available to Director level executives in sport worldwide.
