Ralf Reichert, Chief Executive Officer, ESL and Stuart Saw, Regional Director EMEA, Twitch, are the latest additions to the speaker line-up for the Leaders Sport Business Summit in London.
Statistically the fastest growing sport in the US is video gaming and the biggest eSports tournaments have prize money for the winners of up to $5m. They also draw millions of viewers online and some of the world’s biggest brands as sponsors, and are now included in the X-Games. So how do the world’s most tech savvy and hard to reach fans choose to consume content, what are the successful models for distribution and fan engagement? Twitch launched in June 2011 and is the world’s leading video platform and community for gamers, winning back-to-back Webby Awards in 2012 and 2013, and is growing fast. Business Insider called Twitch “one of Silicon Valley’s Hottest startups.” Meanwhile the ESL Gaming network has more than 5,000,000 registered members and consists of over 1,000,000 teams, which have played over 22.5 million games. Ralf and Stuart will look to map out the next 5 years of growth.
They join a world class panel of global speakers set to take to the stage in New York including Steve Easterbrook, Senior Executive Vice President & Global Chief Brand Officer, McDonalds, Ian Ayre, CEO, Liverpool FC, Ivan Gazidis, CEO, Arsenal FC, Mark Waller, EVP International, NFL, Guy-Laurent Epstein, Marketing Director, UEFA, Wyc Grousbeck, Co-Owner, Managing Partner & Governor, Boston Celtics, Jean-Claude Biver, Chairman, Hublot and Brent Dewar, COO, NASCAR.
