as Santos Laguna Owner joins Sport Business Summit
As one of the fastest growing clubs in North America since its inception in 1982, Santos Laguna is already a top 5 CONCACAF club and has been runner up in the CONCACAF Champions League for the last 3 years. Following the sale of the club by AB InBev in 2013, Santos Laguna now forms part of Alejandro’s sports assets company, Orlegi Sports. Joining the Leaders Sport Business Summit in October, Alejandro will share best practices with the high-profile international audience and discuss future opportunities for the Latin American football and business markets.
He commented: “In this global economy, football is one of the only global industries which includes all creeds and races, promotes international bonds and is globally accepted. At Leaders, the cream of football gathers in the best spirits to share experiences and knowledge and to learn best practices from different perspectives.”
With over 1500 top sports executives from across the globe descending on Stamford Bridge for the two day event, Alejandro joins an exceptional group of industry leaders already lined up to speak, including: Jeffrey Webb, President, CONCACAF; Christian Seifert, CEO, German Bundesliga; Shaikh Salman, President of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC); Russell Wolff, Executive Vice President and Managing Director, ESPN International; Erick Thohir, Owner and President, FC Internazionale Milano; Dave Coplin, Chief Envisioning Officer, Microsoft; and Roel De Vries, Corporate Vice President and Global Head of Marketing, Communications and Brand Strategy, Nissan.
James Worrall, CEO, Leaders commented: “Our commitment to the football industry is a strong as ever and Alejandro is a fantastic addition to an already world-class line-up of speakers. We look forward to welcoming him to London later this year and learning about his plans for the future of Santos Laguna.”
