Balancing elite performance and commercial commitments
One of the biggest names in diving and one of the UK’s most popular sportspeople, Tom will speak alongside the likes of Gianni Infantino, General Secretary, UEFA; Sir David Brailsford, Team Principal, Team Sky; Melissa Rosenthal Brenner, SVP Digital Media, NBA; Thierry Weil, Marketing Director, FIFA; Shaikh Salman bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa, President of the Asian Football Confederation; Roel De Vries, Corporate Vice President and Global Head of Marketing, Communications and Brand Strategy, Nissan; Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, Chairman of the European Clubs Association and FC Bayern Munich; Dave Coplin, Chief Envisioning Officer at Microsoft; Hans Erik Tuijt, Global Activation Director, Heineken; James Pallotta, President and Chairman, AS Roma; Russell Wolff, Executive Vice President and Managing Director, ESPN International and more at the international flagship event.
Tom first gained international recognition in 2008 when he became the youngest British competitor at the Beijing Olympic Games, competing in the finals of the synchronised and individual 10 metre platform competitions at the age of 14. Since then, he’s gone on to win a host of World, European, British, Commonwealth and World Series Titles, and was a Team GB ‘face’ of London 2012. He’s also a commercial heavyweight with multiple partnership deals with global brands, his own TV show and a huge social media following. Tom is truly a leading example of the modern athlete, balancing elite performance, commercial ventures and media scrutiny, and he’s set to share what this entails with 1500 global sports executives at the Leaders Sport Business Summit.
He commented: “Like any modern athlete, I have to find the right balance between my sporting performance – which I always put first – and everything else in my life, including media and commercial work. I’m looking forward to sharing these experiences and my future goals with everyone at the Sport Business Summit.”
James Worrall, CEO, Leaders commented: “Tom is a global sporting icon. As someone who’s handled the pressures of competing at an elite level from such a young age, we look forward to welcoming him to our Sport Business Summit and hearing about how he’s coped with the demands of life in the limelight.”
