Rakesh Patel is Professor of Medical Education, Head of MBBS, and Deputy Director of the Institute of Health Sciences Education, Queen Mary University of London. Rakesh is the first Head of MBBS at Barts and The London School of Medicine, with overall responsibility for providing leadership and day to day management of the MBBS curriculum, both the 5-year and graduate-entry programme.
Clinically, he works at the Royal London Hospital for Barts Health NHS Trust, and prior to that he worked at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust as Honorary Consultant Nephrologist.
