Darren joined Skateboard GB as Team Manager in 2019, moving to his current role of Performance Manger in 2021, to plan and implement the smooth and effective delivery of the UK Sport Aspiration Fund award, and ensure that skateboarders had the best opportunity of qualifying for the 2020 Olympic Games. Going above and beyond this, Skateboard GB enjoyed a stellar showing at their first Olympics, with Skye Brown taking home bronze and becoming Team GB’s youngest ever medal winner.

Darren holds over 10 years’ experience within the skateboarding industry. During his time at Rollersnakes, he’s mentored some of the UK’s finest skateboarders as well building a significant understanding of strategic organisational planning and execution.

In addition to to his role as Team Manager, Darren’s responsibilities include games time planning with Team GB, exploring ways in which they can support both the Skateboard GB team and UK skateboarding as a whole with UK Sport, physical and mental health support with the English Institute of Sport, competition strategy and planning, marketing and PR.
