Dina Asher-Smith is the fastest British woman in history.  She currently holds British records in the 100m (10.83 secs), 200m (21.88 secs) and 4x100m (41.77 secs); British Junior records in the 100m (11.14 secs) and 200m (22.61 secs) and the European Junior Indoor record in the 200m (23.15 secs). She is also the world’s fastest teenager ever over 60m and 200m.

The John Blackie coached athlete has always been fast – aged 13 she ran a world best time for 300m (39.16). In 2011 she gained her first international title in the 200m at the Commonwealth Youth Games in the Isle of Man, and then went on to win the 2013 European Junior 200m and 4x100m in Rieti. In 2014 she became the IAAF World Junior 100m Champion in Eugene.

In 2013, aged 17, Dina was the youngest athlete on the British team for the IAAF World T&F Championships in Moscow. Here she won bronze as part of the 4x100m team, becoming the youngest ever female World Championship relay medallist.  In 2015 she won her first British senior title running 7.15 to win the 60m gold in Sheffield.  She further improved this time to 7.08 to win silver at the European Indoor Championships in Prague and become the fastest teenager of all time over the distance.  In the summer of 2015 she rewrote British sprinting history first breaking the British 100m record in London and then the British 200m and 4x100m records at the World Championships in Beijing.

In 2016 Dina continued to break new ground winning two major medals – first the European Championships 200m gold in Amsterdam and then bronze in the 4x100m at the Olympic Games in Rio.  She placed 5th in the 200m in Rio equalling her 2015 World Championships finish in the same event.

Dina has the misfortunate of breaking her foot in February 2017.  Miraculously she fought back to fitness to place 4th in the World Championships in London in August and lead the British 4x100m team to the silver medals.

In the Summer of 2018 Dina won triple gold (100m, 200m, and 4x100m) at the European T&F Championships in Berlin.  She ended the season as the fastest women in the world in the 200m and joint fastest in the 100m.  She got two more British Records and her first Diamond League victory.

Dina went into the IAAF World Athletics Championship in Doha ranked No.1 in the world in the 100m and 200m and delivered with gold in the 200m and silver in the 100m, both in British Record times.  She became the first British woman to win a World title in the 100m or 200m events.
