Skills Session: Turning Teamwork Into a Competitive Advantage

In this Skills Session we’ll be exploring turning teamwork into a competitive advantage, from looking at the theory through to the practical skills needed to supercharge your effectiveness as a team player and leader of teams.

High performance is almost always a collective endeavour. The better our collaboration skills, the more impact and influence we will have in the organisation. We’ll explore 4 key skills of effective collaboration, and what can affect our effectiveness in different situations. For instance, in what situations do we feel less comfortable speaking up, or less willing to listen up.

The session will have two aims:

• Put our own collaboration skills under a microscope. Raising our awareness around how we show up in collaborative opportunities. Exploring how effective we are at building high trust relationships at pace, speaking up and listening up
• Return to the concept of psychological safety which we’ve seen a huge interest in within this group. Going deeper into what we can do to improve it. For ourselves and for others.
