After playing for 12 years at the elite level in the AFL, in 2011, Tarkyn moved into coaching at the Collingwood Football Club where he held various roles over a 9 years period. Starting his coaching journey as the VFL Head Coach for 2 years before moving into a development coach role. In 2018 Tarkyn was promoted to the role of Head of Development, primarily responsible for overseeing the integration, education and development of the younger players whilst also implementing a skill development program for the entire playing squad. In 2019, he then moved to the AFL as the National Academy Manager & Coach where he has responsibility for delivering a program that supports some of the country’s most talented players as they prepare for the upcoming AFL an AFLW National Drafts.
