Phil and Jana are Executives in Residence at Amazon Web Services, where they advise the executive teams of Fortune 500 companies on technology adoption, innovation and organisational change. Phil brings over 25 years of experience from McDonald’s Corporation, including as VP of Global Technology Development and International CIO. Jana previously led AWS’s Enterprise Transformation Practice across Europe, the Middle East and Africa, and holds a doctorate in uncertainty dynamics in projects, grounding her practical advice in rigorous academic research.
Their work is defined by a central idea – organisations don’t need one more reset, they need a continuous discipline for change. Drawing on work with hundreds of global executives, from Ferrari to PepsiCo, they’ve identified 36 recurring “anti-patterns” that keep organisations stuck, and the practical levers that move them forward instead. Together, they are the authors of The Octopus Organization.
