Reflections across both days at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta.

Welcome to an exclusive behind the scenes episode recorded at the 2019 Leaders Sport Performance Summit at Atlanta’s state-of-the-art Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

By John Portch

The two-day event between 25 and 26 June attracted Leaders Performance Institute members from far and wide, who heard from esteemed speakers including Mark Shapiro of the Toronto Blue Jays, Nyaka NiiLampti – VP of Wellness and Clinical Services at the NFL – and New York Times-bestselling author David Epstein.

We also had people on the ground going behind the scenes to catch up with a selection of the speakers and moderators who made the two days such an emphatic success.

You’ll hear from:

Thomas Dimitroff, General Manager of the Atlanta Falcons, who discussed his approach to hiring and firing, as well as the coffee performance lessons he gets from Sir Dave Brailsford [2:19];

Andy Friend, Head Coach of Connacht Rugby, on the theme of people development as well as his thoughts on some of this favourite sessions across the two days [18:14];

Brad Sheehan, Managing Director of Flight Safety at Delta Air Lines, delves into the aviation industry’s mantra of continuous improvement and ‘healthy scepticism’ [25:40];

Angus Mugford [Toronto Blue Jays], performance consultant Peter Vint, Steve Gera [Gains Group] and Leaders’ very own Luke Whitworth and Matthew Stone on their reflections on both days of the summit [40:04].
