Newton leads Bucks shake-up

Milt Newton has been named Assistant General Manager of the NBA’s Milwaukee Bucks as part of a basketball operations shake-up. David Mincberg has been announced as Director of Basketball Strategy, Tony Bollier as Director of Basketball Operations and Ronald Dupree as a scout. The Bucks also named Frank Johnson as Assistant Coach.


Robinson pitches up in New York

Craig Robinson is set to join the front office of the NBA’s New York Knicks as Vice President of Player Development and G-League Operations. The 55-year-old, who is Michelle Obama’s brother, was a teammate of Knicks president Steve Mills at Princeton, and served as Vice President of Player and Organizational Development for the Milwaukee Bucks last season.




Dacey and Elliott appointed by US Soccer

US Soccer have appointed Matt Dacey as the Boys’ Development Academy Technical Advisor for the Pacific Northwest region and Rob Elliott as the Atlantic region Technical Advisor. In their roles, they will manage the talent identification networks in their respective regions. Dacey is the first individual to be appointed to his position in the Pacific Northwest.

Matfield moves to the Lions

Former Springboks captain Victor Matfield is the new Forwards Coach of the Johannesburg-based Super Rugby team the Lions. The 2017 Super Rugby finalists also promoted U19 head coach Joey Mongalo to Defence Coach ahead of the new season.




Ratnayake joins Sri Lanka

Former Sri Lankan seam bowler Rumesh Ratnayake has joined the Sri Lanka men’s national cricket team as Fast Bowling Coach. The 53-year-old replaces Champaka Ramanayake as the team engages in a three-match Test series against India.


Higson Hired in Ireland

Ben Higson has been announced as the Head Coach of Swim Ireland, as the organisation separated the Head Coach and Performance Director roles for the first time. Jon Rudd, the federation’s new Performance Director was instrumental in the appointment of Higson, who has enjoyed a successful spell as Head Coach at the University of Stirling in Scotland.
