Tham is a Consultant in Sport and Exercise Medicine. Since qualifying as a doctor in 2004 he has worked as a Consultant in Sport and Exercise medicine in the NHS and private sector. He has made it his mission to revolutionise medical care in professional sport, promoting good governance and player advocacy. For over 10 years Tham has been the Lead Physician for the England Women’s Cricket Team.
Previously he was the lead doctor for Southampton Football Club and remains a specialist medical consultant to them. His extensive time in sport also includes both Olympic and Paralympic work through the EIS. Tham has also been a Clinical Associate Professor in Sport and Exercise Medicine post at Nottingham University, teaching and mentoring the next generation on the Sports Medicine Masters program.
Tham currently leads a number of projects across England Women’s Cricket including research and innovation and Women’s Health and is a passionate advocate for driving sports medicine standards across elite women’s cricket.
