Aneesh’s career mission is to make at least one dream come true for every fan.
In pursuit of this, he’s built a unique journey from India to Switzerland as a global leader across media, sports and technology. He has operated from Asia and Europe while working extensively with businesses headquartered in North America.
He’s led a diverse team that was instrumental in making Tokyo 2020 the most digitally engaged Olympic Games in history; appointed to the Global Future Council for Media, Entertainment and Sport at the World Economic Forum driving conversations about social cohesion through sport; and paved a new path as the first Asia-Pacific head of sports partnerships at Twitter leading their global strategy on cricket.
He currently heads global digital partnerships and innovation for the International Olympic Committee (IOC) based out of Lausanne. He is responsible for shaping the role that digital platforms play in the long-term engagement and commercial goals of the organisation. The platforms range from search engines to social media, entertainment to messaging, app stores to emerging technologies like mixed reality and AI.
Aneesh and his team delivered 6.7B engagements across platforms for Tokyo 2020 through digital partnerships. These results served organisational priorities of growing digital engagement with people and innovating new revenue generation models.
Prior to the IOC, Aneesh led Asia-Pacific sports partnerships for Twitter. He was promoted to the role after joining Twitter’s leadership team in India as their third employee. He expanded the company’s partnerships across key markets like India, Australia and South East Asia. His efforts around cricket resulted in the International Cricket Council integrating Tweets from fans into the global broadcast feed of all its major events.
During the Twitter years, Aneesh also spent time helping startup founders find their voice on the platform as they shared the story of building their businesses. He enjoys it to this day.
On a personal note, Aneesh cares deeply about preventive or sight-restoring eye care. Having benefited from affordable care that has enabled his career, he is an active contributor to this cause through programs in India and keen to learn how more people can get access.
Aneesh recognises how fortunate he has been with leaders who have supported his journey and pays it forward through mentorship wherever he can. Feel free to reach out to him on social media as he keeps his direct messages open for this purpose.
