Jesley Chua is Chief Financial Officer of Group ONE (parent company of ONE Championship and ONE Esports) where she oversees the investor relations, capital markets, corporate and strategic finance functions. She was promoted to the Group CFO position in April 2021, after having held prior roles as Head of Corporate Finance, Chief of Staff to the Group President, and interim COO, ONE China. She currently leads and manages ONE’s Group Finance and Corporate Development teams.
Jesley spent more than a decade in asset management, including at Singapore’s sovereign wealth fund GIC, combined with co-founding a leading alternative lending fund in Southeast Asia.
In December 2021, Jesley was instrumental in helping ONE close a US$150 million equity financing round led by two new global blue-chip institutional investors, Guggenheim Investments and Qatar Investment Authority, adding to the company’s existing bench of top tier investors. As Group CFO, Jesley was the key executive who oversaw the fundraising process, enabling ONE to continue its global growth strategy and further expand outside of Asia to reach a broader audience and add new fans around the world.
During the global pandemic and prior to COVID-19 vaccinations being rolled out, Jesley successfully partnered with the Singapore government to enable ONE to become the first sports property in Asia to resume events in front of a live audience in October 2020. Jesley led ONE’s efforts to work closely with the Singapore government to facilitate dedicated green lanes and travel bubbles that enabled quarantine-free travel for ONE’s athletes and staff to participate in ONE’s events at a time when borders were still closed.
Jesley is passionate about supporting and promoting female leadership across the board. She is an active member of several invite and referral-only women’s networks that are mostly comprised of founders, senior executives and investors. These groups support members by offering mentoring opportunities, sharing knowledge and providing network connections. Specifically, Jesley has participated in network industry events as a regular speaker and panellist to share her knowledge on areas of her expertise and support the development of future female leaders.
Jesley currently serves as the Co-Chair of the Professionals Network for Advisory.sg, a fully youth-led non-profit organization that is dedicated to helping young Singaporeans make better and more-informed education and career choices.
