Liz is recognised as one of the leading sports lawyers in the UK, and after 15 years in private practice she founded a sports consultancy and legal concierge, Livida Sport, with her partner, Stefania Genesis. Through Livida Sport, Liz has been able to extend her work beyond an exclusively legal role, allowing her to act in a broader advisory capacity on significant sports projects in the UK and abroad.
Liz is a fierce advocate, a fearless negotiator and a skilled problem solver. However, what sets her apart from her peers is that she is refreshingly commercial and uses her in-depth industry knowledge to deliver pragmatic and creative solutions.
Over the years, Liz has been instructed on some of the highest profile cases in the sports industry and been involved in many complex, multi-million pound transfer and acquisition deals. Her clients, who range from athletes and intermediaries to sports businesses and governments, rely on her strategic guidance, both in times of crisis as well as times of opportunity.
What marks Liz out as a leader in her field is her ability to quietly empower others – whether it be clients, colleagues or aspiring students – to harness their skills and to reach their potential. Being committed to fairness and justice, Liz does not give weight to hierarchy or seniority – focussing instead on creating opportunities and encouraging individuals to prove themselves on merit.
Liz’s successful legal practice came about through her unwavering dedication to building industry knowledge and a network in sport. Her passion for helping others on the same path led to her establishing a pro bono ‘Sports Law Academy’ for graduates wanting to pursue a career in sports law. In six years, over 250 students and retired athletes attended the six month course, with many going on to work in the sports industry.
Liz is a long-standing director of Women In Football and of the sports technology platform, Player Lens, as well as holding a number of advisory roles in sport. She has a Post-Graduate Diploma in Sports Law and a Masters in Sports Management & The Business of Football.
