Megan Rose is the Managing Director of Major Events for the United States Tennis Association. In this role, Megan is responsible for the promotion, operation, and strategic direction of the USTA’s professional tennis assets including the US Open Series, the Davis Cup & Billie Jean King Cup, Pro Circuit, World Team Cup, Olympic Games, Paralympic Games, Pan American Games, and Parapan American Games. She is also responsible for the successful operation of the US Open Wheelchair Championships and the US Open Junior Championships. Under Megan’s leadership, the operation and management of professional wheelchair tennis was successfully integrated into the able-bodied department equivalent, which was a first for a National Governing Body for any Paralympic sport. In addition, Megan serves as Team Leader for USA Olympic Tennis. In this role, she is responsible for all team eligibility, activities and logistics for the Olympic Games, and serves as the USTA’s liaison to the United States Olympic and Paralympic Committee.
Megan received a B.S. in Sport Administration from the University of Miami. During her tennis career at Miami, she was a 5-time NCAA All-American, ITA Player of the Year, and ITA National Indoor Champion. In recognition of her illustrious career as a student-athlete, she was inducted into the University of Miami Sports Hall of Fame in 2016. Megan then competed on the WTA Tour before retiring to pursue her Master’s Degree in Journalism and Media Studies at the University of South Florida, St. Petersburg.
After her playing career, Megan served as the Head Coach of Women’s Tennis at Princeton University, where she led the team to an Ivy League Championships and a Top 50 ITA Ranking in 2009.
Prior to joining the USTA, Megan was the Senior Manager of Member Relations at the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) with a focus on tournament operations and player relations. During this time, Megan was the Tournament Director for the 2015 WTA Rising Stars Invitational and developed and implemented the WTA Coach Program. Megan serves on the Advisory Board for the Greater Orlando Sports Commission, The IX Newsletter, volunteers as Program Manager of WISE (Women in Sport and Events) Greater Orlando WISE Within program, and a graduate of the WISE Executive Leadership Institute through the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth. She is also the Co-Chair of the USTA Women’s Business Resource Group, which was named a Top 25 Employee Resource Group by the Global ERG Network.
