Neil is the Director of Football at the Premier League, where he is responsible for the League’s work in the development of elite players, coaches and match officials.
A highly motivated strategic and inclusive Leader, Director and Board Member, Neil specialises in Sport Development across Youth Development, Coaching, Leadership, Strategy and Performance.
Neil is responsible for the delivery of the Premier League’s Elite Player Performance Plan (EPPP), a long-term plan aimed at developing More and Better Home Grown Players for the English Professional Game. Launched in 2012, the EPPP has yielded much success, with English football now producing more of the world’s best players than any other country.
In addition to his role at the Premier League, Neil is an Independent Non-Executive Director for the British Triathlon Federation, where he is the Board lead for Duty of Care, Safeguarding, Anti-Doping and Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion.
Passionate about Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI), Neil is a member of the Premier League’s EDI Steering Group, responsible for the development of the Premier League’s No Room For Racism Action Plan, and recently launched the League’s first ever South Asian Action Plan, developed to increase the representation of British South Asian players in professional football.
A former professional footballer, Neil also gained Full International Futsal honours, having represented the England Men’s Futsal National Team.
Neil holds a 1st Class degree from the University of Bath and was awarded the British Olympic Association award for Academic Innovation in 2007. Neil also holds a Post-Graduate Certificate in Sports Law from Coventry University, the FA Level 5 for Technical Directors award, and is a qualified Board practitioner.
