Etiksha Patel is a private banking leader with over 16 years’ experience building financial propositions for professional athletes and entertainers. She graduated with a BSc in Management Science from the London School of Economics, an academic grounding that has shaped her structured, evidence-led approach to leadership and client strategy.
Her career began on the Barclays commercial graduate programme, where she developed a strong foundation in client relationships and came to understand early on that exceptional service — not just products — is what truly differentiates one bank from another. That belief has stayed with her throughout her career. Metro Bank recognised her potential and brought her in to help grow the business, and over 12 years there she consistently found new sectors to explore and develop. It was in private banking, however, that she found her real calling, going on to lead Metro’s Sports & Entertainment proposition and build the deep industry network that would later prove instrumental.
In 2024, Etiksha took what many would consider a bold step: she approached Lloyds Private Bank, an institution she had never worked with or competed against, with a proposal to establish and build its Sports and Entertainment proposition. Lloyds backed her vision. What started as a team of ten is now well on its way to becoming a team of over twenty. In under 18 months, she has inspired and motivated her team to onboard more than 600 clients, introduced new lending products and cross-border capabilities designed around the realities of a sports professional’s financial life — irregular income, short career windows, image rights, and complex contracts. Her client base now spans Premier League football clubs, boxers, golfers, Olympic athletes, British cyclists, motorsport professionals and tennis players, a testament to the breadth of trust she has built across the industry.
What distinguishes Etiksha is not simply what she has achieved, but her ability to cut through complexities, to deliver exceptional outcome for her colleagues and clients. She spots a problem, thinks carefully about how to solve it, and gets on with it. She has done this while navigating two industries that remain largely male-dominated, never making an issue of it, and instead channelling that experience into quiet, sustained determination.
Outside of work, Etiksha is a mum of two young children, and volunteering is a big part of her life. She currently volunteers at Neasden Temple, continuing a long-standing commitment to her local community alongside the demands of building a business from scratch and raising a family. When she does get a moment to switch off, she’s happiest with a good box set and a bar of chocolate.
