Marissa is in her ninth season with the Packers. She has led a variety of efforts within the organization and represented the club at an NFL level to strategize and enhance the reach of the Packers brand. She spearheaded the Packers’ most recent shareholder offering, as well as the team’s efforts in litigation management, contracts, cybersecurity, ecommerce, licensing and promotion, risk management, privacy, corporate governance, intellectual property and insurance. She has also helped lay the legal groundwork for the team’s growing mixed use real estate development, Titletown, creating a robust and broad trademark portfolio in a competitive environment and directing multi-faceted operational and commercial transactions. Marissa also helps secure multimillion dollar sponsorships and advises Packers Senior Staff daily on legal matters and growth strategies.
Marissa’s leadership of the sixth stock offering was tremendously impactful, welcoming more than 175,000 new shareholders to the ranks and solidifying the connection between the Packers and a new generation of fans. Through her efforts, the team raised $65.8M to invest in the fan experience at Lambeau Field, funds that are crucial for the only professional team with no ownership dollars, in the NFL’s smallest market. No other modern American sports team has ever offered stock, which is an incredibly arduous undertaking with regard to corporate and NFL governance, law, compliance, sales, advertising, cybersecurity, privacy, digital platforms and online retail. Marissa coordinated the efforts of multiple departments within the organization as well as multiple outside entities, the NFL and its internal and ownership committees, and governing bodies around the world.
A graduate of Northwestern University and the University of Illinois College of Law, she was selected to participate in the highly competitive and prestigious U.S. Attorney General’s Honors Program, joining the U.S Department of Justice at a high level directly out of law school. Marissa was nominated by the Packers as their first attendee of the NFL’s prestigious League of Leaders program at the Stanford University Graduate School of Business.
Marissa is active in the community. She is a long-time trustee of the Brown County Library System, overseeing nine libraries. Marissa is also on the Board of Directors of the Wisconsin Humane Society, the Leadership Council of the Wisconsin LGBT Chamber of Commerce, and the Advisory Board of the Gilmore Family Foundation, raising money to build a first in its class center for the Rare Disease Program at Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin.
