Rory MacFadyen, or ‘Rors’ to those who know him, is the founder of Reflo – a sustainable sportswear brand on a mission to change the sportswear game, for good. Rory achieved a first-class degree in Marketing and Advertising at the University of Gloucestershire before working his way up the ranks at various sports marketing agencies, with his agency life culminating in a Senior Director role at Intigral, responsible for STC’s global sports sponsorship portfolio.
It was at this point he took his career up a level, becoming a founding member and CMO of the Icons Series – a pioneering sports and entertainment series that brought together some of the world’s most iconic sports personalities for a USA vs International team golf tournament. But it was whilst doing this that Rory spotted a bigger opportunity. An opportunity to disrupt an industry, make a difference and dial into his passion points. When kitting out the teams he realised that there were no real sustainable sportswear options. And knowing that fashion is the 3rd most polluting industry in the world, Rory believed something needed to be done. So, he set up Reflo – a pioneering sustainable sportswear brand that’s challenging the big players and making waves in the industry.
Offering businesses and consumers high-performance sportswear made from innovative recycled materials and circular solutions that ensure their apparel is preserved for reuse at the end of life. As well as the vision and the passion, Rory’s uncanny ability to inspire others to be part of the journey – including Harry Kane, Reflo’s latest investor – means that Reflo is currently one of the fastest-growing apparel brands in the world. And one that is a formidable force, carving an indomitable path through the realm of sportswear.
Outside of work, sport has shaped a huge of Rory’s life, both as a fan and participant. An avid golfer, padel player, cricketer and occasional footballer, Rory grew up playing sport and continues to do so. When not working or playing, you can usually catch Rory watching a Southampton game or glued to a live stream of Sussex playing at Hove.
