Today, brands are called to make a positive impact and lead with a purpose. Sports sponsorship is increasingly one of the vehicles that brands use to make a difference in their communities, drive brand love, and ultimately, sales. When we announced the Angel City Sponsorship Model, we committed to being bold and integrating purpose in our robust and innovative model to ensure that mission and capital co-exist.
Here’s how it works: Angel City reallocates 10% of all sponsorships off the top (cash or assets) directly back into the community. Each sponsor that joins the Angel City family lends their expertise and collaborates with the front office to determine the cause they want to focus on to better Los Angeles, and the ACFC team goes to work.

The 10% is invested in ACFC’s three pillars: equity, essentials, and education that are highlighted below:
Equity: To address the lack of pathways for female coaches in soccer, ACFC and Gatorade will reallocate 10% of the sponsorship to launch a formal program featuring organized training and courses led by current and former coaches, athletes, and female role models.
Essentials: DoorDash became the founding front-of-jersey sponsor on February 18, 2021, with an eight-figure sponsorship that became the largest in NWSL history and focused on essentials. DoorDash and ACFC committed to bringing an estimated 250,000 meals to food-insecure Angelenos in the first year of their partnership. As of mid-April, Door Dash and Angel City delivered 17,000.
Education: Birdies and ACFC came together on March 2, 2021, around the shared mission of empowering girls and women to pursue their dreams. They launched the one-of-a-kind SOAR Internship Program; a six-week paid internship for high school juniors and seniors pursuing this goal. The inaugural class of three young women graduated from the program in Summer 2021.
