Will Whiston has been a driving force in reshaping how the world experiences the Olympic and Paralympic Games. Over the last three years, Will has led On Location’s creation and execution of the Games’ first-ever official global hospitality and travel program, an entirely new commercial model for the IOC and an innovation not seen since the Los Angeles 1984 Games. What began as a bold concept is now a multi-billion-dollar business line, built from the ground up under Will’s leadership.
Prior to that, Will led key acquisitions and rights partnerships that helped transform On Location from a Super Bowl-focused business into the sports hospitality industry-leader it is today, and played a key role in On Location’s sale to Endeavor in 2020.
A Harvard Business School graduate and former private equity professional at Castle Harlan, Will’s background blends analytical rigor and entrepreneurial ambition.
His commitment to access and redefining the fan experience is woven throughout his work. From launching Paris 2024’s ecommerce platform for 120+ countries, to creating the first Paralympic hospitality program and first-ever products for sports like skateboarding, beach volleyball, and fencing, to opening the Team USA House to the general public for the first time ever.
Outside of his work, Will has mentored industry start-ups at the MIT Sloan Sports Analytics Conference, mentors MBAs and college graduates pursuing careers in sports through sports business camps, and has run business education courses and soccer clinics for underprivileged youth.
