H.E. Bader was appointed as Saudi Arabia’s Vice Minister of Sport in September 2021, following roles as CEO of the then-General Sports Authority and Advisor to the Minister. Among his main responsibilities include leading the National Sport Strategy and revamping the Ministry’s organizational and financial management practices. A seasoned C-suite executive at major regional and international companies for over 17 years, he also currently represents the Ministry on multiple cross-sectorial government initiatives and is a committee member of the country’s Quality of Life Program.
Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Sport is the country’s government entity tasked with increasing sports participation, nurturing elite athletes and facilitating talent development. As the Kingdom’s sports regulator, it works closely with the Saudi Arabian Olympic and Paralympic Committee to ensure the 97 federations continue their development and growth in line with the Ministry’s sports strategy. The Ministry helped host over 50 international events in the country across over 15 sports since 2018, making Saudi Arabia one of the most exciting countries in world sport today.
He’ll be delivering a keynote speech on Saudi Arabia’s sports vision, strategy and future. H.E. will detail the transformation of the country’s sports ecosystem, the establishment of a sports economy and will unpack questions around the impact of hosting major sports events on society.
