Best sporting memory / favourite sport attended? 

My best sporting memory was when I was ball boy for the Carnegie Cup Final at Wembley between Leeds Rhinos Vs Warrington Wolves in 2010, this was my first real significant experience and scale of what it took to efficiently deliver a large-scale event.  

My favourite sport attended must be Major League Baseball at the London Stadium, I have never seen so many charismatic Americans, Europeans and UK based individuals enjoying baseball in this country.  

Best advise given? 

Perhaps I can provide a saying that I revert to often in my role ‘’under promise, over deliver’’ by doing so you are setting reasonable expectations and then knocking them out of the park. In this circumstance the small things go along way!  

Top tip for networking / building relationship 

I would say two of the best personality / characteristic traits for building relationships would be listening and communication. The value of listening is enormous as to do so means, you have a full understanding of what your client’s needs and requirements are. Whether it is picking up the phone to say hello, providing an update on a deliverable, as part of an objective or talking about a situation that perhaps is sensitive, communication is key in all of these circumstances.  

Going up to a stranger can be difficult & slightly intimidating at times when you’re at an event, but PEOPLE DON’T BITE! Find common ground / topic to discuss or find a particular interest for the person you are speaking to, once doing so you are building repour / relationship finding out integral components of the individuals personality.
