In business terms, sports entities are media properties; their currency is consumer attention. In simpler times, tracking and measuring that attention was, if not straight-forward, then certainly less challenging than it is today.
With the multitude of media channels and platforms now available to sports entities – whether they take advantage of them deliberately or not – a unified approach to measurement, analysis, and therefore maximised revenue generation potential is advised

This is the subject addressed in the first of a series of whitepapers developed by international sports and entertainment sponsorship consultancy, research and evaluation firm Nielsen Sports and Leaders.
The series will run for the remainder of the year, and will delve into some of the hottest topics in the industry today, applying a layer of data-driven insight to address some of the challenges facing many across the global sports business in 2017.
