NewsTechnology has transformed every aspect of modern life in recent years and sport is no exception. Fans, teams and athletes have new ways to connect and there has been an explosion of platforms for consuming sports content anytime and anywhere. With investment flowing into both the technology and sports sectors globally, many startup businesses are bringing fresh ideas to the industry and the timing has never been better to identify and showcase these technologies to enhance fan experience.
After a preliminary judging process, the Leaders Sports Tech Startup Competition will bring 5 of the world’s most innovative, game changing startups to pitch in front of a live audience of 400 leading sports industry executives on stage at the Leaders Sport Business Summit. The winning startup will be decided by an expert judging panel and receive support and advice from top executives from competition partners Chelsea FC, Sky Sports and Deltatre.
Chelsea FC, Managing Director, Christian Purslow, said: “We are very happy to support the Leaders Tech Startup competition, demonstrating our commitment to lead the field in fan engagement and help new businesses develop the next generation of technologies that will help us better reach our supporters around the world and bring them ever closer to Stamford Bridge.”
David Gibbs, Digital Director, Sky Sports, said: “Sky has long been at the forefront of technological innovation for our customers which is why we’re eager to support new companies with great new technologies and services for sports fans. We’re excited to be a part of Leaders Sports Tech Startup Competition to play our part in bringing fans closer to sport.”
Carlo De Marchis, Chief Product & Marketing Officer, Deltatre, said: “We are so excited to be part of such a great group in supporting Leaders in this initiative as we believe that the sport business ecosystem needs to nurture innovation to continue its growth. Deltatre, the 30 year old startup, as we like to call ourselves, has based its continued growth on 3 things: passion, creativity and continuous innovation. These are some of things we’ll be looking out for.”
