Leaders in Sport Head to China in 2017

Leaders, the global media and networking platform in sport, and organiser of the Leaders Sport Business Summits in New York and London, is delighted to announce a China edition of the world renowned gatherings, which will be hosted in Beijing in 2017.

By launching the first international Sport Business Summit in China, Leaders aims to help international organisations do business in China, promote the country as a destination for sport, connect Chinese and overseas executives as well as transfer knowledge from the mature sports markets to the rapidly changing landscape that is Chinese sport. Leaders will now begin to identify the final dates in 2017, based on feedback from the international and local market, and will announce these shortly.

The summit will play a key role in supporting the Chinese sports market which is reaching its most exciting phase of development following President Xi Jinping’s directive to create an $800bn business by 2025. Intense competition for broadcast rights in China, a wave of new investors in overseas properties, numerous Chinese based sport companies raising significant finance to expand and an ambitious grass roots programme have created an unstoppable momentum for the sports industry.

The first Chinese company to sign a partnership agreement with Leaders is iRENA, the leading operator of football club stadiums in China and official local promoter for the NBA Global Games, Team China, the Chinese Super League and the Brazil National team amongst other properties. They have a dedicated team of experienced and committed personnel with connections across the Chinese sports industry and will bring a wealth of experience in supporting the delivery of the Leaders Sport Business Summit in China.
