Over 400 entries from 28 countries were received in the 9 month process with 30 submissions making the final shortlist for this year in the categories – Content Creation, Innovation, Live Experience, On Screen Experience and Sponsorship.
An expert panel of 100+ senior industry executives including Alex Green, Managing Director, Amazon Prime Video – Channels & Sport, Europe, Amazon; Lisa Baird, Chief Marketing Officer, United States Olympic Committee; Patrick Pierce, Vice President, Marketing Partnerships, Etihad Airways; Amy Lee, Senior Director, Media Distribution, NBA; Ricardo Fort, Vice President, Global Sports Partnerships, Coca-Cola and many more were involved in the rigorous judging process that resulted in the decision of this year’s shortlist.
James Worrall, Founder & CEO, Leaders commented: “Year one of the Awards has been highly competitive and we’re overwhelmed with the number of quality entries we’ve received. Our expert panel of judges from all corners of the globe did an incredible job in finalising this year’s shortlist and we’re very much looking forward to celebrating their achievements, and crowning the winners, this October during Leaders Week London.”
The celebration for the Leaders Sports Awards will take place on 9 October 2018 at the iconic Natural History Museum, London. Taking place during Leaders Week, the evening promises networking and entertainment, where the winners of each category will be crowned in front of 600 senior industry executives and special guests.
In addition to the companies, the Leaders Under 40 Class of 2018 will also be recognised on the evening in October. Leaders will announce the Class of 2018 next week.
