The Boston Celtics President discusses business priorities for the 2017/18 season, dynamic pricing, jersey sponsors and the biggest potential revenue opportunities.
Gotham is responsible for all aspects of the Celtics’ business operations. As a percentage of championships won, the Celtics are the most successful franchise to date in the major four traditional North American professional sports leagues. Prior to becoming President, Gotham was named Chief Operating Officer of the franchise in June 2006. From April 2003 through June 2006, Gotham served as Executive Vice President of Sales, Marketing and Corporate Development for the Celtics.
Interviewed backstage at Leaders Week in London in October 2017, Gotham explained the franchise’s business priorities for the current campaign; the club’s unique approach to data-driven ticket sales and the philosophy behind its dynamic pricing strategy; as well as the rationale behind its jersey sponsorship deal; and the biggest potential revenue opportunities left on the table.
