In November 2016 New Zealand Rugby (NZR) committed to an independent Respect and Responsibility Review (RRR) to understand how NZR could develop and support people within its rugby system.
It was a fundamental change for the organisation, and a sometimes painful process, triggered, as it was, by a succession of high profile off-of-the field behavioural issues among the players. Nicki Nicol, previously Chief Financial Offer at New Zealand Rugby and now the body’s Chief Operating Officer, has been leading on the programme since its inception nearly three years ago.
New Zealand is famed for its culture, often manifested in and expressed through its famous All Blacks rugby team.
