Wednesday 31st March: Athletes monetising direct to consumer relationships with Cameo Co-Founder Martin Blencowe

On the latest edition of Leaders Live – our new, monthly, livestreamed topical sports business discussion show – Cameo Co-Founder Martin Blencowe joined us to discuss the rise of the personalised video messaging service.

He discussed the company’s origins, its development and why Cameo points the way for a new generation of athletes who are taking control of their own media destinies and in doing so are forging more personal connections with fans.

Elsewhere, Sports Business Journal’s John Ourand stopped by to give his verdict on the NFL’s recent broadcast rights agreements with ABC/ESPN, Fox, NBC, CBS and Amazon Prime. We also discussed the positivity around F1 as the new season gets underway, DAZN’s big broadcast bet in Italy after it secured the bulk of Serie A live games and why the much-anticipated Uefa Champions League revamp has hit a snag.
